Fresh Blood for FreshWater 2017
9 – 13 April, 2017, České Budějovice, Czech Republic
Welcome to the fifth FBFW initiative, primarily organized to encourage young limnologists to present their research and exchange ideas with other early career scientists. We invite students (MSc and PhD) and post-doctoral researchers to present their work in a friendly environment with like-minded people.
To fuel discussion, there will be short talks and poster sessions: a rare opportunity to present your published, ongoing or future work directly to other young scientists in your field. We will also have longer talks from our international selection of invited speakers - experts in their field who will provide information about their work and careers, as well useful advice on how to swim in “scientific waters”.
In addition to the scientific talks, there will be dedicated practical and applied freshwater science workshops/seminars covering a range of topics in bacterial grazing, cyanobacteria, viruses, fish population, and food web modelling.
There will also be a chance to explore with our organized excursion – a great time to discover more of beautiful České Budějovice, and to meet other conference attendees in an informal setting.
In summary, the meeting will be an excellent opportunity for gaining new insights, establishing collaborations, and expanding your scientific circle and friendships. We look forward to seeing you in April!
