Workshop within the FORUM 2000 conference

Forests cover one-third of the Czech landscape and the looming climate change exposes them to severe tests in the form of droughts and loss of biodiversity. Are we ready for what is coming?

The aim of the event is to draw public attention to the new concept of sustainable forestry in times of climate change and inspire examples of good practice in European countries.
You will hear lectures of Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Hlásny (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and the National Forestry Centre Zvolen), Prof. Josef Fanta (Institute of Botany CAS) and Prof. Gert-Jan Nabuurs (Wageningen University). Invited are representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture (Dr. Tomáš Krejzar) and the Ministry of the Environment (Dr. Vladimír Dolejský), who will introduce a concept of sustainable forest management in the Czech Republic. The moderator of the panel discussion, in which you are invited to ask questions, will be Prof. Bedřich Moldan (Environment Centre of Charles University in Prague). At the end of the event, a press release will be published.

Please confirm your attendance before October 10, 2016 to: petrik@ibot.cas.cz.
