We warmly invite you to the Researchers' Night on Friday, 25 September 2026, from 5 PM to 10 PM, this year with the theme Communication. Bring your families and friends and enjoy an evening full of science quizzes, games, experiments, fascinating encounters and fun.
A varied programme for children and adults has been prepared by scientists from across the Biology Centre. As always, you can explore the fascinating worlds of insects, ticks, mosquitoes, fish or plants. We will take a look at communication in the brain, what sound looks like, how bioluminescence is produced, we will be making scents and many more. One of the highlights of the evening will be the premiere of a brand-new computer game! Our colleague Jiří Koubek will present a satirical life simulator for PhD students, a PhD Simulator – Publish & Perish, which he developed based on his own experience from a prestigious US university. Players must prove that they can survive the everyday realities of academic life and, ideally, make it all the way to their PhD defence.
The evening will be hosted by actor and science communicator Vojtěch Klinger, aka Zvěd.
And for the first time ever, there will be a band at the Researchers´ Night! Live acoustic music will be provided by the band ONI.
